She saw Mamps lean back to whisper to Leeb, the lastof Cosmo's siblings. Leeb snickered and hurried away.Mamps turned back to gaze at the Doctor with dark andgreedy eyes.

The Doctor came over to June and Deukalion. 'Well,' hesaid loudly, 'it's all going a lot better than we could haveexpected. I'm going to pop over to the island wherethey've got whatever they're using to bring people herefrom the future. You're going to be their guests here whileI'm gone.'

'But--' began June. The Doctor put his arm around hercompanionably.

'I know you're going to miss me,' he said and huggedher.

'It's a trap,' she whispered in his ear.

He held her close. 'I know,' he said. 'They need meaway from the alien fan club before they can have theirrevenge. But what else can we do?'

'Doctor!' she said, holding on to him tightly.

He withdrew from her, smiling brightly, that cunninglook in his eye.
